Modern local calendar makers in places like Rajasthan still rely on the Indian Astronomical Ephemeris, which sets fixed reference points at latitude 23°11′ North and longitude 82°30′ East, a location tied to the Central Station used for modern methods of tracking solar position and lunar position.
