Afghani Trousers

I found that trousers made from high-quality, woven cotton give a unique fashion feature that few other fabrics match, especially with an elasticated back and a drop crotch design.

This combination creates the ultimate blend of fit and relaxation, and once you try this Made-to-last perfect Experience, you won’t go back.

 Explaination

I still remember the first time I tried to stitch my own Afghani salvar, and I quickly learned that crepe cloth works best for this style.

You start with a piece of 2.25 M cloth, then fold it in four folds and hold the front and back in four H’s, numbered one to four, to prepare for the length and breadth measurements.

Before cutting anything, take a proper size measure of the hip, length, and ankle using a measuring tape so the fit is right. On my pair, afghani trousers  I used 36 in for length, 38 in for hip, and kept the ankle hem at 6 in, then added 1 in for stitching to get 37 in total.

The belt or waist band takes 8 in, and once you add stitching allowance it becomes 8 and 1/2 in, while the doubled hip measurement of 44 in becomes half, which is 22 in, and with stitching allowance that turns into 23 in.

You then work out the crotch area by measuring 16 in from the open side, keep the closed side untouched, and mark 2 in for the ankle H before you join the marks and cut along the straight line.

A small cut mark at the center helps with the next step, and from there you pull out the belt and fold the cloth in double to draft each ankle H, leaving two point margins on the sides

. For the ankle hem, keep the length of ankle hem and breadth of ankle hem at 6 in and add 1 and 1/2 in for stitching so it becomes 7 and 1/2 in, then cut out two ankle H’s.

Once you begin to stitch, start from the crotch area, work on the front and back, and make sure the plates, or box pleats, stay symmetrical on both sides through box leads.

Use fusion paper while working on the belt and the afghani trousers  dra stre, stitch up to 1 in, leave it unstitched for a bit, then continue with parallel stitching, press open the seam, and repeat along the other side.

Fold the belt in two fold, stitch along the edge, and attach it to the silvar, also called silar or cvar, close in style to cumies bottoms, using a thread that matches the fabric.

Mark the center on both the ankle hem and the silvar afghani trousers  so you can match centers, keeping the right side of cloth facing the right side of ankle H, then stitch them together and attach the lace of top, or simply the lace, to finish the ankle hem neatly.

Repeat the same steps for the other ankle H, and once afghani trousers  every fold reaches the bottom, your Afghani salvar is ready to wear, unless you prefer elastic instead of fusion paper, in which case the leaves step is not needed and you simply finish the stitching.

 Conclusion

Every pair comes as One Size, cut from soft Viscose Fabric and Made In Thailand by skilled hands. Because each piece is handmade, the colour afghani trousers you receive may look slightly different from the photo, and the Size stays roomy enough for most body types.
